Maps
The realm of Soulmud is quite extensive. There is a soulmud.org/maproom.html page has maps, but not all maps are there. Quite recently i deleted alot of the maps on that page, simply because the maps were off, not right, totaly wrong or just not a good map. Below is a listing of all current which are in need of being mapped.


Mapping

I leave it up to you the player to make maps of areas, so that others be able to visit the area and have some clue of what they are up against. The world is large, and the areas are expansive in some cases. Maps may be emailed to me, kell/kyuss at kyuss@soulmud.org or diazz420@yahoo.com. If i post your map, you will receive quest points based on the map in question. Quest points are spent in a various amount of ways. More is better, and I like maps, so if you wanna map, its 1 generaly 1 qp per 50 rooms in the map. this rewards large map makers who make extensive maps. some good examples of outstanding maps are, this one (click me) or that map (click me) now granted these areas are large and well done by Anubis but rakoth took the time and care to do these maps right. Maps should have directions on how to get there, properly done exits, show which mobs are where, and possibly what mobs load what. Also maps should show exists to connecting areas. All maps should be submitted as low color .gif or .jpg. I will not accept maps over 100k in size. Smaller maps make for better load times :) Noone wants to watch a map load for 2 minutes (not all of us are off 56k). Anyways, here is a list of areas of ShankaraMud which currently need maps for me to post.

Firenewts, North of Tupelo (includes lyrran, park, graveyard, adjoining roads). Tupelo itself, with road going west and east. Happy Hunting grounds. Cloud giant clouds. Castle Black, Bal Harbor sewers + shaguins on one map. Region west of Bal Harbor, including the town before the sun temple. the Sun temple itself needs a new map. Gnolls, Catacombs and crystal caverns on one map. The ice berg, the ma~ze, ice dragon cave, jahnesta, temple of ancients (also known as FF7), giant mountain (with entrance to demonweb & ff7) Drexel, Jurrasic region west of BH, minotaurs, Nexus (plane shift spell), white chess army, red chess army, blue chess army, Lycanthopia (with both day AND night spawns and weresharks). Moon temple, settlestone forest, settlestone proper, abyss (plane shift spell), demonweb (including full expanded citadel and entrance web), forest of fear, ants, jumanji, order temple, ravenloft and barovia, midgaard, maze (diff from ma~ze), hellwell, hell, eden, wrecked funeral barge, golden pavillion, arboretum, nephegs temple (neutral temple), shadis temple (neutral temple), trogs & bar on one map, imps, quicklings, dwarf citadel, balward swamp, thremiscyra (aka cazel), tar pits, snake temple, haunted mines, gromlim tower, pirate cove, merryville pond.


As maps are completed and posted i will remove the name from this page. As new areas go in I will post the names of the areas here.
